ABOUT MY BUSINESS

I established Zoe's Customs Collages in May of 2020 (which became Zoe's Customs Shop in January of 2021). The goal of my small business was to provide unique college products to students at an affordable price. Zoe's Custom Collages was originally a small business where college students could buy laptop and phone wallpapers with collage designs of their school.  I began marketing my designs through Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms. After seven months of designing collages, I decided to change my small business name, build a website, and expand my product line. I have grown Zoe's Customs Shop to over ten thousand followers on both Instagram and TikTok, while selling over three thousand products to customers.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Zoe's Customs Shop began as a small business based completely on social media. I was able to market a variety of products, ranging from wallpapers to phone cases, to college students through Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms with content creation and promotions. In order to accomplish this, I had to analyze social media trends and analytics to maximize business growth potential and target audience preferences. As my sales platform transitioned to a website, I still used social media to promote products and communicate with customers. Through this successful use of social media marketing, I was able to grow Zoe's Customs Shop to over ten thousand followers on both Instagram and TikTok, while selling over three thousand products to customers.

BRANDING

After running for business for seven months as Zoe's Custom Collages, I wanted to expand my product line. In order to do this, I wanted my name and branding to match my new variety of products. I designed a new logo, under the small business name Zoe's Customs Shop. I created business cards and thank you cards, and developed a website that matched my branding. Creating my own logo and expanding my product line allowed my business to have a cohesive look.

BUILDING A WEBSITE

After conducting business for seven months through social media, I decided to build a website equipped with an e-commerce storefront. Designing and creating this platform using Squarespace allowed for an easier transaction on both the buyer and seller end. It expanded by knowledge and experience in website design and truly allowed my small business to grow.

EXPANDING PRODUCT LINE

After growing Zoe's Customs on social media and developing a website, I decided to expand the products available in my small business. I began designing college inspired stickers and printing them to sell through my website and Redbubble. In addition, I used these unique designs to create collages that were printed on flags. Both of these new products allowed customers who had previously ordered from my small business to return to purchase, while also driving new business to my website.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Even before establishing Zoe's Customs Shop, I have always been passionate about Dressember. Dressember is an organization that fights to end modern day slavery by raising awareness as participants wear a dress everyday in December. I decided that I wanted to give 10% of every purchase from Zoe's Customs to Dressember. Over 40 million men, women, and children are enslaved today (more than during the Atlantic Slave Trade), and by purchasing an item from Zoe’s Customs, customers are funding the end of human trafficking. I also was able to design some unique collages and stickers related to Dressember, where 100% of the profits were donated to the organization. Learn more about Dressember and the amazing things they do by visiting dressember.org.
