One of my favorite parts of social media marketing is coming across an Instagram account whose posts look incredibly cohesive and beautiful. It’s quite pleasing and I’m more likely to spend more time checking out their account.
A cohesive, intentionally-planned grid is beneficial to all businesses looking to grow on social media and establish a following. Social media is essential in 2023 as younger generations use it to decide where they want to eat, shop, get their hair cut, even have their wedding! Platforms such as Instagram and TikTok are breaking into the search engine market, so your business’s feed must be up to date to attract customers.
For many, maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing Instagram grid may seem daunting, but with this guide and some organization, it’s actually a lot simpler than it sounds! Use these tips to get started creating a social media presence you’ll be proud to show off.
Decide on your strategy & content pillars
Establishing a social media marketing strategy and choosing content pillars is the first step in creating an aesthetically pleasing feed. A successful social media strategy will cover your goals, your target audience, your branding, your content pillars, and your mission statements. You need to be creating content that aligns with your strategy and is consistent to engage your audience and grow your business. Choose a vibe
There’s a lot of different ways to incorporate a “vibe,” or the feeling or atmosphere, into your Instagram grid. The easiest way to do this is through the types of imagery you post and promote on your feed.
Remember to use your strategy to determine what you want viewers to take away from visiting your page. This could be feeling informed, encouraged, intrigued, motivated, etc.

Editing the pictures being posted on your Instagram is the number one tip to creating a cohesive grid. And to make sure they’re all edited the same, simply use a preset.
A preset is a group of photo-editing settings designed to transform your digital images into a beautiful, finished product with just a few clicks. Presets come in many forms, such as phone applications and computer software, but are most easily used in the Lightroom or VSCO app. A person can create their own present by changing a variety of aspects like saturation, contrast, highlights, shadows, adjusting color tones, and adding different effects; or you can buy a present that was already crafted by someone.
The easiest way to make sure your strategy and vibe shines through consistently in your Instagram feed is to invest time/money in a preset or edit your photos cohesively through editing apps.
Plan out your feed
It’s imperative when implementing a new strategy to plan out the Instagram feed to ensure aesthetic cohesiveness.
Utilizing scheduling tools through Instagram or apps such as Loomly or Sprout Social are key to creating an amazing grid layout. These platforms help you layout all your pictures and rearrange them for the best style before having to post (originally this could only be achieved through outside applications but luckily Instagram introduced the new feature in 2023).
Once you’ve created a grid you like, you can use these scheduling tools to upload the photos, write captions, and schedule them to automatically post! This ensures that the posts you’ve worked so hard to craft will go up on time to curate that gorgeous Instagram feed.
Don’t overthink it
It might seem hard to do, but avoid overthinking your grid. Once you establish a strategy, determine your vibe, and get a preset, curating an aesthetically pleasing Instagram should come easily. If you overthink the layout, it probably won’t turn out as best as it could, and you’ll be stressed for no reason.
Take the time to implement a process early on. And, as you grow to learn what you like best and works best for you and your company, creating posts for a cohesive feed will come naturally over time.
Stay true to you and your brand
The most important thing to remember is to always reference your strategy and stay true to your brand. Capitalize on what sets you apart from others and promote it through your social media posts to stand out.
